Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough oral examinations, accurately diagnose dental conditions, and formulate comprehensive treatment plans utilizing advanced diagnostic tools, including digital radiography.
• Perform a wide spectrum of general dental procedures, including but not limited to, restorative fillings, intricate extractions, precise root canal therapy, crown and bridge preparations, and denture fittings.
• Administer local anesthesia effectively, safely, and comfortably for patients, ensuring optimal pain management during procedures.
• Provide comprehensive preventative care, including detailed oral hygiene instructions, professional fluoride treatments, and dental sealants.
• Manage and respond to dental emergencies promptly and effectively, offering immediate relief and appropriate long-term solutions.
• Educate patients extensively on proper oral hygiene techniques, provide dietary advice, and thoroughly explain treatment options to promote long-term oral health and informed decision-making.
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential patient records meticulously in full compliance with both clinical and legal standards.
• Ensure strict adherence to all infection control protocols and sterilization procedures, maintaining a pristine and safe clinical environment.
• Collaborate effectively and harmoniously with dental assistants, hygienists, administrative staff, and other dental specialists to ensure seamless, integrated patient care.
• Actively participate in continuing education programs and professional development initiatives to remain updated on the latest advancements, techniques, and technologies in dentistry.
• Communicate clearly, empathetically, and patiently with patients, addressing all their concerns, answering questions thoroughly, and ensuring a comfortable, reassuring experience.

Required Skills

• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from an accredited and recognized institution.
• Current and valid dental license to practice in Nigeria, registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable post-NYSC clinical experience as a practicing dentist.
• Demonstrated proficiency and strong clinical skills in a wide range of general dentistry procedures.
• Excellent diagnostic capabilities and robust treatment planning skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient relation skills, with the ability to build immediate rapport with patients and colleagues.
• Exceptional manual dexterity, precision, and meticulous attention to detail.

• Proficiency in using modern dental software for patient management and digital imaging systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or post-graduate training/certification in a specialized dental field (e.g., Orthodontics, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Periodontics).
• Experience with advanced dental technologies such as CAD/CAM systems, dental lasers, or clear aligner therapy systems.
• Proven track record and strong interest in aesthetic dentistry and comprehensive smile design.
