Are you an experienced, reliable, and customer-focused motorcycle rider with a passion for delivering excellent service? Kivu Safari Lodge is seeking a dedicated Delivery Rider – Food Courier to join our dynamic and growing team in Rutsiro, Western Province. This is a crucial opportunity for an individual who owns their own well-maintained motorcycle and possesses deep familiarity with the local Rutsiro area. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport food and beverage orders from Kivu Safari Lodge kitchen to designated delivery locations within Rutsiro and surrounding areas.
- Ensure timely deliveries, adhering to scheduled delivery windows and communicating any potential delays proactively and professionally.
- Handle food orders with extreme care to prevent damage, spillage, or compromise of food quality and presentation during transit.
- Verify order accuracy against invoices before leaving the lodge and upon delivery, ensuring customers receive the correct items.
- Collect payments accurately, if required, and provide excellent customer service at the point of delivery, addressing any minor concerns politely.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good operating condition of your personal delivery vehicle at all times, conducting regular checks.
- Adhere strictly to all national traffic laws and internal safety regulations while on the road, prioritizing safety above all else.
- Represent Kivu Safari Lodge professionally and courteously in appearance and conduct during all interactions.
- Report any issues with orders, deliveries, vehicle maintenance, or customer feedback promptly and clearly to management.
- Assist with other ad-hoc tasks as required to support the lodge operations during downtime, demonstrating teamwork and flexibility.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience as a delivery rider or courier.
- Possession of a valid Class A (motorcycle) driving license in Rwanda.
- Ownership of a reliable and well-maintained motorcycle with valid insurance and registration.
- Excellent knowledge of Rutsiro District and surrounding areas, including navigation of local roads and shortcuts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a polite and friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as per operational needs.
- High degree of punctuality, reliability, and time management skills.
- A clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
- Physical ability to lift and carry delivery bags (up to 15 kg) and perform duties in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food delivery for a reputable restaurant or hospitality establishment.
- Familiarity with digital mapping and navigation applications (e.g., Google Maps).
- Secondary school certificate or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Kinyarwanda and a good working knowledge of English.
