Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company delivery van to transport groceries to customers' homes.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and report any defects to ensure roadworthiness.
- Accurately load and unload groceries, ensuring correct orders are delivered.
- Provide exceptional customer service at every delivery point, maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Handle cash and process payments accurately using a handheld device.
- Navigate routes efficiently, adhering to delivery schedules and road safety regulations.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards during transport and delivery.
- Resolve minor customer queries or escalate issues to the appropriate department.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving licence (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 20kg) and perform physical tasks.
- Good geographical knowledge of London or ability to use navigation systems effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a multi-drop delivery role.
- Experience working in a customer-facing environment.
- A clean driving record.
- Basic IT skills for using handheld delivery devices.
