Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver various packages and documents to customers within Krugersdorp and surrounding areas.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal working condition and report any defects immediately.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of parcels at the depot, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Verify accurate parcel counts and documentation (waybills, manifests) before departure and upon delivery.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS and local knowledge to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, representing The Courier Guy with a positive attitude.
- Handle cash or card payments from customers when required, adhering to company financial procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, vehicle maintenance, and fuel consumption.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with dispatch and customer service teams to resolve delivery issues or schedule changes.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the assigned delivery vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Code 08 (B) or Code 10 (C1) South African driver's license with a Public Driving Permit (PDP).
- Minimum of 12 months' proven experience as a delivery driver.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Excellent knowledge of Krugersdorp and surrounding Gauteng areas.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 25kg) and perform physical tasks associated with the role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organized.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the courier or logistics industry.
- Familiarity with handheld scanning devices and delivery tracking systems.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to identify minor vehicle issues.
- A track record of excellent customer service.
