Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver grocery orders to customers' homes within the Wasbank area.
- Verify order accuracy against delivery manifests before leaving the dispatch location.
- Handle products with care to prevent damage during transit and delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any queries or concerns professionally.
- Operate company vehicles safely, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle.
- Process payments and manage cash/card transactions accurately when required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and customers.
- Adhere to scheduled delivery times and report any delays promptly.
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods as needed.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, especially regarding food handling and vehicle operation.
Required Skills
- Valid South African Code B (or higher) Driver's License
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Excellent knowledge of Wasbank and surrounding areas
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 25kg)
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or courier role
- Matric certificate or equivalent
- Familiarity with GPS devices and route optimization apps
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
