Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the accurate loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, ensuring proper stacking and securing of goods.
- Verify outgoing and incoming inventory against delivery notes and manifests, promptly reporting any discrepancies or damages.
- Organize and sort packages efficiently within the warehouse for optimal route planning and timely dispatch.
- Safely operate various warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and trolleys, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety standards within the warehouse and surrounding distribution areas.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of delivery vehicles, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Deliver goods to customers across Mahikeng and surrounding areas in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
- Collect payments or obtain necessary signatures and proof of delivery from customers upon successful delivery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse management, and customers regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, traffic laws, safety regulations, and customer service standards.
Required Skills
- Valid Code B (or higher) driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 25kg) regularly.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for verifying documentation.
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks throughout the day.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 6 months of previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or delivery role.
- Familiarity with the Mahikeng area and local delivery routes.
