Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load, unload, prepare, and operate the delivery vehicle (motorcycle or small van) in a safe and timely manner.
- Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through various routes, adhering to assigned schedules and time limits.
- Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers for accuracy and report any discrepancies immediately.
- Complete logs and reports accurately, including daily manifests, delivery records, and basic vehicle maintenance checks.
- Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, providing excellent service and collecting payments when required.
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of the assigned delivery vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety guidelines, and parcel handling protocols, ensuring the secure transportation of goods.
Required Skills
- Valid rider's permit or driver's license (Class A for motorcycle, Class B/C for small van, depending on vehicle assigned).
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 25kg) for extended periods.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure timely deliveries.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for professional customer interaction.
- Proficiency in navigating local routes within Iyana Ipaja, Alimosho, and broader Lagos using maps or GPS.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a delivery, courier, or logistics role.
- Familiarity with smartphone applications for route optimization and delivery tracking.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.) equivalent.
- Residency in or close proximity to the Iyana Ipaja, Alimosho area is an advantage.
