Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and preparing engaging lesson materials and classroom activities.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, reinforcing learning concepts and assisting with assignments.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, including recess, lunch, and transitions.
- Support classroom management by helping to implement positive behaviour strategies and school policies.
- Prepare educational resources, displays, and learning stations as directed by the teacher.
- Observe and record students' progress, providing feedback to the lead teacher.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and managing classroom supplies.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with teachers, parents, and other staff members.

Preferred Qualifications
- A relevant NQF Level 4/5 qualification in Education, Childcare, or a related field (e.g., FET Certificate: Education, Training and Development).
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role, particularly within a private school setting.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of various teaching methodologies and educational software.
- Ability to assist with specific subjects like mathematics, literacy, or science.
