Job Description

Ramsay Health Care is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Healthcare Professional to join our dynamic clinical team in Sydney. This pivotal role involves providing exceptional patient-centered care across various specialities within an acute care hospital setting. As a Healthcare Professional with Ramsay, you will be responsible for a broad range of clinical duties, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and effectiveness in patient treatment and recovery. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, and support staff to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting thorough patient assessments, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient progress, and maintaining meticulous documentation of care provided. You will play a crucial role in patient education, empowering individuals and their families with the knowledge and resources necessary for optimal health outcomes. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, assessments, and interventions in accordance with established clinical protocols and professional standards.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, documenting all actions and patient responses.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, promptly reporting any changes to the medical team.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualised patient care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date patient medical records.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ward rounds, team meetings, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring ethical considerations and patient rights are upheld at all times.
  • Provide support and mentorship to junior staff and students where applicable.

Required Skills

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) relevant to your profession.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant healthcare discipline (e.g., Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Health Science).
  • Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience in an acute care setting.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing clinical environments and manage workload effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in a specialty area (e.g., Critical Care, Emergency, Perioperative).
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience with specific Ramsay Health Care EMR platforms.
  • Participation in professional development activities and continuous learning initiatives.
  • Leadership or mentorship experience within a clinical setting.
