Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assessments, and interventions in accordance with established clinical protocols and professional standards.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, documenting all actions and patient responses.
- Monitor and evaluate patient vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition, promptly reporting any changes to the medical team.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised patient care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date patient medical records.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Participate in ward rounds, team meetings, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring ethical considerations and patient rights are upheld at all times.
- Provide support and mentorship to junior staff and students where applicable.
Required Skills
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) relevant to your profession.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant healthcare discipline (e.g., Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Health Science).
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience in an acute care setting.
