Job Description
Career.supersecrets is seeking a passionate and dedicated Health Educator to champion community health initiatives in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti. This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and evaluating impactful health education programs that empower residents to make informed decisions about their well-being. As a Health Educator, you will be at the forefront of public health, acting as a vital bridge between essential health information and community action, translating complex medical and scientific concepts into clear, culturally appropriate, and actionable insights for diverse populations.
Your primary focus will be to conduct thorough community needs assessments, meticulously identifying prevalent health challenges unique to Ikere-Ekiti. This understanding will be crucial in developing targeted, evidence-based educational materials, engaging workshops, and innovative outreach activities. These initiatives will cover a broad spectrum of health topics, including but not limited to preventative care, chronic disease management, maternal and child health, nutrition, hygiene, sanitation, malaria prevention, and sexual reproductive health. The successful candidate will also be instrumental in forging and nurturing strong collaborative relationships with local community leaders, traditional rulers, healthcare providers, schools, religious organizations, and non-governmental organizations to ensure a holistic and comprehensive approach to health promotion and disease prevention across the locality.
You will be responsible for facilitating dynamic and interactive educational sessions, employing a variety of pedagogical methods to effectively engage different age groups, literacy levels, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Measuring the tangible impact of these interventions is paramount; therefore, the role requires diligent systematic data collection, rigorous analysis, and comprehensive reporting on program outcomes. This includes tracking participation rates, assessing knowledge acquisition, monitoring behavior changes, and evaluating overall improvements in community health indicators. Furthermore, you will actively advocate for health policies and practices that support healthy lifestyles, working tirelessly to influence positive changes at both individual and community levels. This challenging yet profoundly rewarding position offers an unparalleled opportunity to directly contribute to the improved health, well-being, and quality of life for the residents of Ikere-Ekiti, leaving a lasting, positive legacy in their daily lives. We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, resourceful, and culturally sensitive professional ready to champion health equity and sustainable community development.
