As a Data Science Analyst at Rakuten Group, you will be at the forefront of leveraging vast and complex datasets to uncover actionable insights that drive business strategy and product innovation across our diverse portfolio. Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex data analysis, including statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and segmentation, to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytical findings to stakeholders.
- Design and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate the impact of new features, products, and marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure data quality, accessibility, and consistency across various data sources.
- Translate business questions into analytical problems, formulating hypotheses, and developing appropriate analytical methodologies.
- Build and deploy machine learning models for tasks such as recommendation systems, fraud detection, or customer lifetime value prediction.
- Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations to non-technical audiences, influencing data-driven decisions across the organization.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and analytics, continuously improving our tools and methodologies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R for data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
- Solid understanding of statistical concepts and their application in business contexts.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related discipline.

- Business level Japanese language proficiency.
