Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and organize incoming customs documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and process various customs forms, permits, and declarations, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Enter data accurately into customs management systems and maintain organized digital and physical records.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, freight forwarders, and customs authorities to clarify information or resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in the calculation of duties, taxes, and other applicable charges under supervision.
  • Learn and apply relevant customs laws, tariffs, and trade regulations specific to Nigeria.
  • Support senior clerks and management with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Ensure all documentation is filed and archived correctly for easy retrieval and auditing.
  • Participate actively in all training sessions provided to develop a comprehensive understanding of customs procedures.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent (OND/HND/BSc is a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite, especially Excel)
  • Ability to learn new software and systems quickly
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
