Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Credit Controller to join our dynamic finance team in Deira, Dubai. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining healthy cash flow and ensuring the financial stability of our operations within a fast-paced and high-volume commercial environment. The Credit Controller will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our accounts receivable ledger, focusing on effective debt collection, proactive credit risk assessment, and meticulous ledger reconciliation. You will be a key player in optimizing our collections process, building strong relationships with our clients, and significantly contributing to our financial health and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial credit practices, demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills, and be adept at problem-solving. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and effective collection of outstanding debts.
  • Conduct regular credit risk assessments for new and existing clients, setting and reviewing appropriate credit limits.
  • Reconcile customer accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies, short payments, and unauthorized deductions promptly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, fostering open communication to facilitate payments.
  • Develop and implement robust credit control procedures and policies to minimize bad debt and improve cash flow.
  • Prepare regular reports on debtors' aging, cash flow forecasts, and collection performance for management review.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service teams to address credit-related issues and optimize order-to-cash cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with company credit policies, accounting standards, and relevant legal requirements.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and advise management on strategies to mitigate them.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable management.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasive communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA part-qualified, CICM).
  • Experience working in a large conglomerate or multinational company.
  • Familiarity with UAE commercial laws and debt recovery processes.
