Job Description
We are seeking a diligent, analytical, and highly motivated Credit Analyst to join our esteemed team at Sharjah Islamic Bank in Khor Fakkan, Sharjah. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the bank’s assets by meticulously evaluating the creditworthiness of a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from established corporations to individual applicants. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and comprehensive financial analysis of credit applications for both corporate and individual clients, including detailed review of financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements), cash flow projections, and comprehensive business plans to ascertain repayment capacity and overall financial health.
- Perform in-depth assessment of the credit risk associated with potential borrowers by rigorously analyzing industry-specific risks, market trends, competitive landscapes, and broader economic indicators that could impact borrower viability and repayment capacity.
- Develop and prepare detailed, well-structured credit proposals and recommendations for approval by senior management and credit committees, ensuring that all submissions are accurate, fully documented, and strictly compliant with the bank's internal policies, credit procedures, and the fundamental principles of Sharia finance.
- Proactively monitor the ongoing performance of existing credit portfolios, utilizing various analytical tools and reports to identify early warning signs of potential risks, deteriorating financial conditions, or breaches of covenants, and subsequently recommending appropriate remedial actions or adjustments to credit facilities.
- Engage directly with clients and their financial advisors to efficiently gather necessary financial and operational information, clarify any discrepancies, and conduct site visits where appropriate, demonstrating strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build trust and gather insights.
- Collaborate effectively with relationship managers, legal departments, risk management, and other internal stakeholders to streamline the credit processing workflow, ensure efficient communication, and facilitate informed, timely credit decision-making, fostering a cohesive team environment.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of relevant economic developments, changes in local and international regulatory frameworks (including those specific to Islamic finance), and evolving industry best practices in credit analysis and risk management to ensure continuous adaptation and improvement of our methodologies.
- Actively contribute to the ongoing refinement and enhancement of credit risk management processes, policies, and analytical tools, participating in projects aimed at improving efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across the credit function.
- Ensure meticulous and timely data entry, maintenance, and archiving of all credit-related documentation and files in accordance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Credit Analyst, preferably within a banking or financial services environment in the UAE.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, accounting principles, and advanced financial modeling techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for complex data analysis and financial modeling.
- Solid knowledge of credit risk assessment methodologies and principles, including Sharia-compliant financing structures.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic are essential for interacting with diverse stakeholders.

- CFA certification or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
