Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently and safely collect and deliver parcels, documents, and goods to designated locations.
- Plan and optimize daily delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Verify contents of packages against manifests and obtain necessary signatures for proof of delivery.
- Handle cash payments accurately when required and reconcile daily transactions.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service, acting as a professional and courteous representative of The Courier Guy.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure it is in good working condition and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Accurately complete all delivery paperwork, logs, and utilize relevant mobile applications for tracking.
Required Skills
- Valid South African Driver's License (Code B or higher)
- Possession of a reliable, well-maintained vehicle suitable for parcel delivery (sedan, bakkie, or small van)
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Excellent geographical knowledge of Roodepoort and surrounding Gauteng areas
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 25kg)
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of previous experience in courier or delivery services
