Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load, transport, and deliver parcels to customers within the designated service area, ensuring all packages arrive in perfect condition.
- Strategically plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivery and pickup, leveraging navigation tools to ensure timely arrivals and maximize productivity.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company vehicles, maintaining cleanliness and promptly reporting any mechanical issues or damage.
- Accurately handle cash transactions and process electronic payments for deliveries where applicable, ensuring strict adherence to company financial protocols.
- Verify recipient identity and securely collect signatures or necessary proof of delivery as per company policy.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status, potential delays, or any encountered issues.
- Strictly adhere to all local and national traffic laws, company safety standards, and established customer service guidelines at all times.
- Assist with warehouse operations, including sorting, loading, and unloading parcels, to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Maintain meticulous records of deliveries, pickups, vehicle mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Represent the company with utmost professionalism and courtesy during all interactions with customers and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan driving license (Class B or equivalent for light commercial vehicles), with a clean driving record.
- A minimum of 1 year of proven experience as a courier driver, delivery driver, or in a similar professional driving role.
- Exceptional knowledge of Mavoko and its surrounding areas' road networks and traffic patterns.
- Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to manage routes efficiently.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver packages weighing up to 25 kg regularly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- A high degree of professionalism, reliability, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
