Job Description

Are you a proactive and ambitious student eager to gain hands-on experience in corporate communications? Swedbank Latvia is offering a unique internship opportunity within our dynamic Corporate Communications team. This role is perfect for someone passionate about storytelling, media relations, internal communications, and digital content creation in a fast-paced corporate environment. As a Corporate Communications Intern, you will be an integral part of our team, contributing to the development and execution of various communication strategies that support Swedbank’s brand reputation and engage our diverse stakeholders. You will have the chance to learn directly from experienced professionals, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, and making a tangible contribution to our daily operations. This internship offers a comprehensive overview of corporate communications within a major financial institution, providing invaluable insights into how strategic messaging shapes public perception and internal engagement. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting and editing internal and external communications materials, including press releases, news articles, social media content, and internal newsletters.
  • Support media monitoring and analysis, preparing summaries of media coverage relevant to Swedbank and the financial sector.
  • Contribute to the organization and execution of corporate events, press conferences, and internal engagement activities.
  • Help manage and update Swedbank's corporate social media channels and external communication platforms.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities, and best practices in corporate communications.
  • Support the team with administrative tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and content archiving.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather information and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Latvian.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, error-free content.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms and their role in corporate communications.
  • Proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic corporate environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a communications-related role (e.g., student newspaper, club, or prior internship).
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools or content management systems.
  • Knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop) is a plus.
  • Understanding of the financial industry or keen interest in banking.
