Key Responsibilities
- Localize and review in-game text, marketing copy, website content, legal documents, and other materials from English into target languages, ensuring linguistic accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and brand consistency.
- Collaborate with internal development, marketing, legal, and quality assurance teams to ensure localization efforts align with project goals and deadlines.
- Maintain and update localization glossaries, style guides, and translation memories to ensure consistency across all localized content.
- Conduct linguistic quality assurance (LQA) on localized content, identifying and correcting linguistic, cultural, and cosmetic errors.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to external translation vendors and internal teams.
- Research cultural nuances and regional specificities of target markets to ensure content resonates authentically.
- Manage localization assets and utilize various CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools effectively.
- Participate in localization project planning and review cycles, offering expert linguistic insight.
Required Skills
- Fluency in English and at least one other major European language (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Italian) with exceptional writing skills in both.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in content localization, translation, or transcreation within a professional setting.
- Strong familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., MemoQ, Trados Studio, Wordfast) and localization workflows.
- Deep understanding of linguistic nuances, cultural sensitivities, and regional variations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and deadline-driven environment.
- Passion for video games and a strong understanding of gaming terminology and culture.
