Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Supervisor with a strong focus on site oversight to join our dynamic team in Lekki Phase 2. This critical role involves managing daily operations on construction sites, ensuring projects adhere to strict timelines, budget constraints, and superior quality standards. The successful candidate will be the linchpin between project plans and on-the-ground execution, directly impacting the success and safety of our build. As a Construction Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a diverse team of skilled and semi-skilled workers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities from planning to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
- Direct and coordinate the daily work of construction crews, including laborers, artisans, and subcontractors, ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols, conducting regular safety briefings and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement proactive solutions to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
- Interpret and execute construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications, providing clear guidance to the on-site team.
- Conduct quality control checks on materials and workmanship, ensuring all work meets specified codes and standards.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, documenting site activities, resource allocation, and any incidents or challenges encountered.
- Manage material inventory, ensuring timely procurement and efficient utilization of resources to prevent waste and delays.
- Act as the primary point of contact for site-related queries, resolving conflicts and addressing challenges promptly and effectively.
- Train and mentor junior staff and new team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
- Ensure all site equipment and machinery are operated safely and maintained according to schedule.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Construction Supervisor or similar role for at least 3 years.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations (OSHA/local equivalent).
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and decision-making under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and quality.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Construction Safety.
- Experience with large-scale residential or commercial building projects.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Lagos, Nigeria.
