We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Supervisor to oversee critical site operations for our expanding portfolio of projects in Surulere, Lagos. This pivotal role involves the direct management and coordination of daily on-site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily on-site construction activities and operations.
- Ensure all project work is performed in compliance with design specifications, budget, schedule, and safety standards.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction documents to guide site activities.
- Coordinate and schedule the work of subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety regulations.
- Implement and enforce site health and safety plans, leading by example.
- Identify and resolve construction-related issues, discrepancies, and conflicts promptly.
- Manage site logistics, material delivery, and equipment deployment effectively.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and documentation.
- Communicate project status, challenges, and successes to the Project Manager.
- Train and mentor site staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
- Oversee quality control and ensure all work meets required standards and building codes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Construction Supervisor or similar role
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and procedures (e.g., OSHA, local regulations)
- Proficiency in basic construction software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD viewing)
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Professional certification (e.g., COREN, CORBON)
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience with diverse construction projects (residential, commercial, infrastructure)
- Familiarity with local Lagos building codes and permits
