Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of workers, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring performance.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings to ensure all personnel are aware of potential hazards and safe work procedures.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure quality of workmanship and adherence to established standards.
- Monitor project schedules, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Manage and optimize the use of construction materials, equipment, and labor resources.
- Liaise effectively with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans to accurately guide the team.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues and challenges promptly to minimize disruptions.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and other necessary project documentation.
- Ensure all site activities comply with environmental regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience as a Construction Foreman or similar supervisory role.
- Demonstrated strong leadership and team management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and procedures.
- Excellent understanding and commitment to construction safety standards and practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven problem-solving capabilities and ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging outdoor environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade certification (e.g., Trade Test III) or HND in Civil Engineering/Construction Management.
