Job Description
Overberg Construction is seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organized Construction Foreman to oversee projects primarily within the Kleinmond area and broader Overberg region of the Western Cape. This is a unique ‘remote’ role, designed for an independent leader who can effectively manage multiple construction sites without the need for a daily office presence. Your home base will serve as your office for administrative and planning tasks, but you will be expected to travel regularly to various active construction sites, providing critical on-the-ground supervision, guidance, and quality control.
As a Construction Foreman, you will be the linchpin between project plans and their successful execution. You will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities adhere to strict safety standards, project specifications, budgets, and timelines. This role demands exceptional organizational skills, a deep understanding of construction methodologies, and the ability to lead and motivate diverse teams of skilled tradespeople and labourers. You will interpret blueprints, allocate resources efficiently, troubleshoot problems as they arise, and maintain consistent communication with project managers, clients, and subcontractors. Your ability to manage logistics remotely, coupled with consistent site presence when required, will be crucial to success. If you thrive on autonomy, possess strong leadership qualities, and are passionate about delivering high-quality construction projects in a dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply. This position offers a chance to shape significant developments in a beautiful part of South Africa while working with a supportive and forward-thinking company.
This ‘remote’ designation acknowledges the independent nature of the role, where your primary base of operations for administrative tasks will be flexible. However, regular and often daily travel to various construction sites within the Overberg region, including Kleinmond, is a fundamental and non-negotiable requirement to ensure direct oversight and leadership. You will essentially manage your mobile ‘office’ to support active projects across our portfolio.
