Hayer One Construction Ltd is seeking an immediate hire for a dedicated Construction Cleaner – Site Assistant to join our project team in Maralal, Samburu County. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient construction site. As a Construction Cleaner – Site Assistant, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our work areas are clean, free of hazards, and well-supported, allowing skilled trades to operate effectively. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, from general site upkeep and waste management to assisting site supervisors and skilled workers with material handling and basic operational support. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and tidying of the construction site, including offices, storage areas, and work zones, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
- Manage and dispose of construction debris and waste materials in designated areas, adhering strictly to environmental and safety regulations.
- Assist site supervisors and skilled tradespersons with various tasks, including moving materials, setting up equipment, and general labor support.
- Maintain and organize tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean, in good working order, and stored appropriately at all times.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to the site supervisor immediately to prevent accidents or delays.
- Ensure all pathways, access routes, and emergency exits are kept clear and accessible for personnel and equipment.
- Support general logistical needs on-site to facilitate smooth project operations and efficient workflow.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Required Skills
- Proven ability to perform physical labor and lift heavy objects safely and repeatedly.
- Strong understanding and commitment to construction site safety protocols and practices.
- Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Basic communication skills in English and/or Swahili to understand instructions and report issues.
- Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic with a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience (at least 6 months) working on a construction site or in a similar physically demanding role.
- Basic knowledge of common construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Possession of a valid First Aid certificate is an added advantage.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
