York Harbor Construction Company Inc. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Construction Carpenter to join our growing team. As a vital member of our project crew, you will play a crucial role in bringing high-quality construction projects to fruition across York Harbor and the surrounding Southern Maine area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced carpenter who possesses a comprehensive understanding of various carpentry tasks, from foundational framing to exquisite finish work. Key Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of rough and finish carpentry, including framing walls, floors, and roofs; installing windows, doors, and stairs.
- Accurately measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, and drywall.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures at heights.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Install cabinets, trim, molding, and other finish elements with precision and attention to detail.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including project managers, electricians, plumbers, and laborers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Construction Carpenter (minimum 2 years).
- Thorough knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods.
- Proficiency in using electrical and manual tools and measurements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings (e.g., blueprints).
- Strong understanding of safety guidelines and practices in construction.
- Excellent physical condition and endurance.
- Good understanding of basic mathematics for calculations.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Apprenticeship or vocational training in carpentry.
