Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles for the transport of goods, materials, and personnel.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, routes, and delivery logs.
- Ensure the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Represent the company professionally at all times, demonstrating courtesy and excellent customer service.
- Plan efficient routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and other team members regarding schedules, delays, or issues.
- Respond to emergencies or breakdowns in a calm and appropriate manner, following company protocols.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian driver's license (Class E or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in an FMCG or logistics environment.
- Proven track record of safe driving with no major accidents or traffic violations.
- Excellent knowledge of Benin City and Edo State road networks.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as operational demands require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Professional driving certification from a recognized institution.
- Experience driving heavy-duty vehicles (e.g., trucks, vans for distribution).
