Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles for the transport of goods, materials, and personnel.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, routes, and delivery logs.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times, demonstrating courtesy and excellent customer service.
  • Plan efficient routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, dispatch, and other team members regarding schedules, delays, or issues.
  • Respond to emergencies or breakdowns in a calm and appropriate manner, following company protocols.

Required Skills

  • Valid Nigerian driver's license (Class E or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in an FMCG or logistics environment.
  • Proven track record of safe driving with no major accidents or traffic violations.
  • Excellent knowledge of Benin City and Edo State road networks.
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as operational demands require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
  • Professional driving certification from a recognized institution.
  • Experience driving heavy-duty vehicles (e.g., trucks, vans for distribution).
  • Familiarity with defensive driving techniques.
  • Basic computer literacy for record-keeping purposes.
