Key Responsibilities
- Operate aircraft safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies, aviation regulations (NCAA), and international standards.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight checks, including aircraft inspection, weight and balance calculations, and performance planning.
- Monitor weather conditions, interpret meteorological data, and make informed decisions regarding flight planning and execution.
- Maintain clear and concise communication with air traffic control, ground crew, and passengers.
- Manage in-flight emergencies and abnormal situations with calm professionalism and expert decision-making.
- Complete all necessary flight documentation, logs, and reports accurately and promptly.
- Adhere to all security procedures and contribute to the overall safety culture of the operation.
- Participate actively in recurrent training, simulator sessions, and professional development programs.
- Collaborate effectively with first officers, cabin crew, and ground staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Represent the company with professionalism and integrity at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with appropriate ratings (e.g., Multi-Engine, Instrument Rating)
- Class 1 Medical Certificate (current and valid)
- Proficiency in English (ICAO Level 4 or higher)
- Demonstrated knowledge of aviation regulations, meteorology, and navigation.
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to perform under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High level of professionalism and adherence to safety protocols.
- Type rating on relevant aircraft (e.g., turboprop or regional jet) preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or a related field.
- Experience with regional African air operations.
- Familiarity with Makurdi air space and regional flight paths.
- Previous experience as Pilot-in-Command.
- Advanced CRM (Crew Resource Management) training.
