Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty commercial vehicles, including trucks and trailers, to transport goods across specified routes.
- Adhere strictly to all UAE traffic laws, company safety policies, and international driving regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure accurate loading, securing, and unloading of cargo, verifying manifests and delivery documentation.
- Maintain detailed logbooks of driving hours, rest periods, fuel consumption, and delivery records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, logistics coordinators, and clients to ensure timely deliveries and address any unforeseen issues.
- Assist with minor vehicle maintenance tasks and ensure the cleanliness of the assigned vehicle.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously during interactions with clients and partners.
- Comply with all port entry and exit procedures, as well as customs regulations where applicable.
Required Skills
- Valid UAE Heavy Vehicle Driving License (Class 4 or equivalent, or ability to convert an international license).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven commercial driving experience with heavy vehicles.
- Clean driving record with no major accidents or violations.
- In-depth knowledge of road safety regulations and driving laws in the UAE.
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems and reading maps.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform driving duties for extended periods and assist with cargo handling.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks and minor troubleshooting.
- Effective communication skills in English; basic Arabic is a significant advantage.
- Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialized cargo, such as container hauling, bulk transport, or refrigerated goods.
- Defensive driving certification or advanced driving courses.
- Additional language proficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Familiarity with Dibba Al-Fujairah and surrounding Emirates' road networks.
