Key Responsibilities
- Process a wide range of financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and cheque cashing for both personal and commercial clients.
- Verify customer identities and transaction details to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with bank policies.
- Balance cash and other financial instruments daily, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities to deepen customer relationships.
- Educate customers on Scotiabank products and services that align with their financial needs.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all banking products, services, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with branch team members to achieve collective goals and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Adhere strictly to all bank policies, procedures, and security protocols.
- Maintain a neat and organized workstation and ensure the security of cash and confidential information.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or cash handling role.
- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in handling transactions.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with banking software.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a bank teller or in the financial services industry.
- Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset for this location.
