Sacramento College Counseling is seeking a compassionate and highly organized College Admissions Counselor to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized college counseling to high school students, including guidance on college selection, academic planning, and extracurricular activities.
  • Assist students in developing compelling college essays, personal statements, and supplemental application materials.
  • Educate students and parents on the intricacies of the college application process, including deadlines, standardized testing, and financial aid.
  • Conduct mock interviews and provide feedback to prepare students for college interviews.
  • Stay current with evolving trends in college admissions, including changes in testing policies, application platforms, and university requirements.
  • Organize and lead workshops or information sessions for groups of students and parents on various admissions topics.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress and interactions.
  • Collaborate with school counselors, teachers, and other educational professionals to support student success.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build rapport and trust with students and parents.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple student caseloads simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of the U.S. college admissions landscape, including public and private institutions, application platforms (Common App, Coalition App, UC App), and financial aid processes (FAFSA, CSS Profile).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience with international student admissions and visa processes.
  • Familiarity with various CRM or student management software platforms.
  • Bilingual proficiency, especially in Spanish or Mandarin, to support a diverse student body.
