Are you a visionary Cloud Architect passionate about designing and implementing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions? G42 is seeking a talented and experienced Cloud Architect to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping our cloud strategy, driving the adoption of best practices, and architecting innovative solutions that underpin our cutting-edge AI and data initiatives. You will work closely with our engineering, data science, and product teams to translate complex business requirements into robust, high-performance cloud architectures primarily across leading public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and potentially our own sovereign cloud infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable, high-availability, and fault-tolerant cloud architectures across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and private cloud platforms.
- Lead the definition and enforcement of cloud architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, data science, and product teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectural blueprints.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all cloud solutions, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and operational procedures.
- Evaluate new cloud technologies, services, and tools to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development and operations teams on cloud technologies and architectural principles.
- Drive the adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles and automation for cloud resource provisioning and management.
- Ensure cloud solutions comply with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization initiatives for cloud infrastructure.
- Oversee the migration of existing on-premises applications and data to cloud environments.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering.
- Deep expertise in designing and deploying solutions on at least two major public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
- Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Extensive experience with networking concepts (VPC, VPN, Load Balancing, DNS) in cloud environments.
- Solid knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), and data encryption.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with big data technologies and machine learning platforms in the cloud.
- Familiarity with serverless architectures and microservices design patterns.
- Experience in highly regulated industries or environments with stringent security requirements.
- Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the cloud community.
