Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cleaning Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our hotel room cleaning services at New Planet Hotels & Suites in Orile, Lagos. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and motivate a team of housekeepers to ensure efficient and high-quality room cleaning services.
- Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and common areas to ensure adherence to the hotel's stringent cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Manage and monitor cleaning supplies and equipment inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper usage to minimize waste.
- Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and procedures to optimize productivity and guest satisfaction.
- Address guest requests and complaints regarding room cleanliness promptly and professionally, ensuring swift resolution and follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and waste disposal.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards identified in guest rooms or public areas to the appropriate departments.
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new housekeeping staff, providing ongoing coaching and performance evaluations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in housekeeping operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role, preferably within a hotel setting.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with staff, management, and guests.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Knowledge of various cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemical usage in a hospitality environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required by hotel operations.
- Physical stamina to perform duties that may involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Hospitality Management, Housekeeping Operations, or a related field.
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) for tracking room status.
- Certification in first aid or occupational health and safety.
- Previous experience in a live-in role within the hospitality industry.
