Job Description
Access Bank Plc is seeking a diligent and meticulous Cleaning Staff member to join our Facilities Management team at our prestigious Eko Tower location. This critical role operates during the evening shift, typically starting after regular business hours, ensuring that our commercial office spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a comfortable, safe, and professional environment for our employees and visitors, contributing directly to their well-being and productivity. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties in office areas, common spaces, boardrooms, restrooms, and kitchenettes, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waste disposal.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly, ensuring all fixtures are sparkling and supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels) are fully replenished.
- Empty waste bins and recycling receptacles, transport waste to designated disposal areas, and ensure proper waste segregation according to company and environmental guidelines.
- Clean interior glass surfaces, windows, and partitions to a streak-free standard, ensuring optimal visibility and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness of stairwells, elevators, and corridors, including polishing handrails and ensuring clear pathways.
- Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, polishers, and carpet extractors safely and efficiently, performing minor troubleshooting as needed.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting needs to the Facilities Management team to ensure continuous availability.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards immediately to the Facilities Management team for prompt resolution.
- Follow established safety procedures and guidelines for handling and using cleaning chemicals responsibly, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhere strictly to Access Bank's security protocols, ensuring all assigned areas are properly secured and locked upon completion of shift.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as required, such as deep cleaning, post-renovation clean-up, or support for corporate events setup and teardown.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in commercial or institutional cleaning, preferably in a corporate office environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of various cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistently high standard for cleanliness and hygiene.
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong, proactive work ethic.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to cleaning operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Certification in professional cleaning or hygiene practices.
- Prior experience working evening shifts in a busy corporate or commercial building.
- Familiarity with waste management and recycling best practices.
