Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and tidying of guest rooms daily, including making beds with fresh linens, dusting and polishing furniture, vacuuming carpets, and mopping hard floors.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms completely, including toilets, sinks, showers, and floors, and replenish towels, toiletries, and amenities as required by resort standards.
- Empty and dispose of trash bins, replacing liners in guest rooms and designated public areas throughout the resort.
- Ensure all guest amenities, supplies, and promotional materials are accurately stocked, organized, and presented according to Kivu Paradise Resort's guidelines.
- Promptly report any maintenance issues, damages, or missing items observed in guest rooms or common areas to the supervisory team.
- Adhere strictly to all resort health and safety regulations, as well as established cleanliness and hygiene protocols.
- Assist with laundry duties, which may include sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and towels.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of common guest areas, hallways, stairwells, and housekeeping storage rooms.
- Interact with guests in a polite, respectful, and professional manner when encountered, always maintaining a helpful and positive demeanor.
- Support other team members and departments as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the resort.
Required Skills
- No prior professional cleaning experience is required; comprehensive training will be provided.
- Possess a strong work ethic, reliability, and a consistently positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Ability to meticulously follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and order.
- Good physical stamina, capable of performing tasks that involve lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in attendance.
- A basic understanding of general hygiene and cleanliness principles.
- Eagerness and willingness to learn new procedures, techniques, and adapt to varying tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Basic communication skills in English or Kinyarwanda to effectively interact with colleagues and guests.
- Previous experience in any customer service-oriented role (even informal or volunteer positions).
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as per resort needs.
