Parsons is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Civil Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Civil Structural Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, analysis, and execution phases of diverse structural elements, ensuring compliance with international standards, local regulations, and client specifications. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with architects, civil engineers, project managers, and construction teams to deliver innovative, safe, and cost-effective structural solutions. Your expertise will be vital in conceptualizing, developing, and reviewing structural designs for a variety of projects, including commercial buildings, residential complexes, bridges, and other civil structures. This role demands a strong understanding of structural engineering principles, material properties, and construction methodologies, along with proficiency in industry-standard design software. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for various civil and building structures using relevant codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, ACI, AISC).
- Prepare detailed structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Review and approve structural designs and documentation prepared by junior engineers or external consultants.
- Collaborate with architects, other engineering disciplines, and construction teams to integrate structural systems effectively into overall project designs.
- Conduct site inspections, assess structural integrity, and provide technical support during the construction phase.
- Identify potential structural issues, propose effective solutions, and lead their implementation.
- Utilize structural design software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, RAM Structural System, or equivalent.
- Ensure all designs comply with local regulations and international best practices.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating technical information.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in structural design of building and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE).
- Strong understanding of structural codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocodes).
- Demonstrated experience in reinforced concrete, steel, and foundation design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or Chartered Engineer status.
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software (e.g., Revit Structures).
- Knowledge of local UAE building codes and regulations.
- Experience in post-tensioned concrete design.
