Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the conceptualisation, design, and development of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, and structural foundations.
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to inform design decisions and project planning.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations using industry-standard software.
- Ensure all designs and projects comply with relevant local, national, and international engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Collaborate with architects, planners, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and holistic project delivery.
- Oversee construction activities, providing technical guidance, resolving on-site issues, and ensuring quality control.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities, presenting project updates and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the team.
- Implement sustainable engineering practices and innovative solutions to minimise environmental impact and optimise resource utilisation.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in civil engineering design and project management.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other engineering analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of UK building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
