Key Responsibilities
- Conducting feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments for various civil engineering projects.
- Designing and analysing civil engineering structures and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Preparing detailed technical reports, specifications, drawings, and project documentation.
- Utilising advanced engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroDrainage) for design and analysis.
- Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Supervising construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality control, and safety protocols.
- Managing project budgets, schedules, and resources efficiently to deliver projects on time and within cost.
- Applying sustainable design principles and innovative solutions to minimise environmental impact and enhance project longevity.
- Identifying and resolving complex technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years (36 months) of proven experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar industry-standard design software.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, structural analysis, hydraulics, and geotechnical engineering.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Eligibility for professional registration (e.g., EngTech, IEng, or working towards CEng status with ICE).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related specialisation.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or equivalent, or actively pursuing chartership.
- Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) software and methodologies.
- Proven project management experience, including managing budgets and schedules.
- Specialised experience in a specific civil engineering sub-discipline (e.g., highways, drainage, flood defence, bridges, or urban regeneration).
- Knowledge of UK planning policies, construction law, and contract administration.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small project teams.
