This is a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the development and infrastructure of our community, working on a diverse range of projects from municipal infrastructure upgrades to coastal protection, stormwater management, and residential developments. As a Civil Engineer specializing in local projects, you will be instrumental in every phase, from initial feasibility studies and conceptual design to detailed engineering, procurement assistance, construction supervision, and project closeout. We are looking for a professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, possesses strong technical acumen, and is passionate about delivering sustainable and high-quality engineering solutions tailored to the specific needs of the St Helena Bay region. You will engage directly with local authorities, community stakeholders, and our construction teams, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.
Your role will involve managing project budgets and schedules, preparing detailed engineering reports, specifications, and drawings, and conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and address any challenges that may arise. You will be responsible for applying sound engineering principles to solve complex problems, often working with unique coastal environmental considerations. This includes hydrological analysis for stormwater management, geotechnical assessments for foundation design, and structural calculations for various civil structures. Beyond technical expertise, your ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, articulate project goals, and manage expectations will be crucial. You will also be expected to stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure our projects remain at the forefront of best practices. Our team fosters a supportive and growth-oriented atmosphere, encouraging continuous learning and professional development. If you are a seasoned Civil Engineer eager to apply your skills to meaningful local initiatives and see your designs come to life within a close-knit community, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity with Saldanha Bay Engineering & Construction.
