Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Construction Engineer to join our dynamic project team on a key building site in Ojuwoye, Mushin, Lagos. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
- Interpret and implement architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on schedule.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to Hitech's high standards.
- Coordinate with site management, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and material availability.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, including resource utilization, work completed, and challenges encountered.
- Manage site resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, ensuring optimal utilization and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on the construction site.
- Resolve technical issues and challenges that may arise during construction in a timely and effective manner.
- Participate in site meetings and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in building construction, specifically on site.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations in Nigeria.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a site team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in construction software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Project) is an advantage.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Professional registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
- Experience with large-scale commercial or residential building projects.
- Familiarity with local government regulations and permitting processes in Lagos State.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or construction safety (e.g., NEBOSH).
