Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and oversee civil engineering projects for building construction, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively to ensure projects are completed on time and within cost.
- Conduct site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, and other geological data) to design foundations and structural components.
- Supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, drawings, and quality control procedures.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and local authorities to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential problems, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed progress reports, project status updates, and documentation for all project phases.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in civil engineering within the building construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations in Nigeria.
- Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro).
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
