Job Description
Fryer’s Cove Vineyards is seeking an exceptional and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our unique coastal business into its next phase of growth and innovation. This is a rare opportunity to helm a company deeply embedded in the heart of the Doringbaai community, with a globally recognized brand built on extraordinary terroir and a commitment to quality. As CEO, you will be the strategic architect and operational leader responsible for driving the overall success and profitability of Fryer’s Cove. You will oversee all aspects of our vineyard management, cellar operations, hospitality services (tasting room, restaurant), and direct-to-consumer retail, ensuring brand integrity, financial health, and sustainable expansion. Your primary focus will be on enhancing our market presence both locally and nationally, optimizing operational efficiencies across all departments, fostering a vibrant and supportive company culture, and strengthening our ties with the local community, suppliers, and key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve company goals and objectives, ensuring long-term sustainable growth.
- Oversee all business operations, including vineyard management, winemaking, sales, marketing, finance, HR, and hospitality.
- Manage the company's P&L, develop annual budgets, and ensure financial stability and profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, customers, suppliers, and the local community.
- Drive brand awareness and market expansion for Fryer's Cove wines and hospitality offerings.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and innovative approaches to enhance revenue and market share.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental practices.
- Act as the primary public representative for Fryer's Cove Vineyards, advocating for its interests and values.
Required Skills
- Proven executive leadership experience (minimum 10 years) in a commercial environment, preferably in the agricultural, food & beverage, hospitality, or tourism sectors.
- Exceptional strategic planning and execution capabilities.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep understanding of local market dynamics and community engagement.
- Operational excellence with a focus on efficiency and quality control.

Preferred Qualifications
