Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Engineer to join our manufacturing plant operations team. This pivotal role involves optimizing production processes, ensuring product quality, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and sustainability within our cement manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in overseeing various stages of the chemical process, from raw material analysis to clinker production and final cement grinding. You will be responsible for identifying areas for improvement, troubleshooting operational issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets and maintain stringent quality controls. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes and equipment for cement production.
- Monitor and analyze process data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards for raw materials, intermediate products, and finished cement.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of process equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and R&D teams to streamline operations and introduce new technologies.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various chemical processes.
- Manage chemical inventory, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal of materials.
- Participate in process hazard analyses and implement safety measures to prevent incidents.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, analyze production data, and present findings to management.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and plant operators.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in cement, heavy industry, or a continuous process plant.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes, reaction kinetics, and thermodynamic principles.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems (DCS, SCADA).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and lead projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
- Professional engineering license (e.g., COREN registration).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and safety standards relevant to industrial operations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software.
