Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Dubai. This pivotal role will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of financial information across various business units within Majid Al Futtaim. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, from financial reporting and analysis to ensuring compliance with international accounting standards and local regulations. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our financial control environment, supporting strategic decision-making, and contributing to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the group. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
- Manage general ledger operations, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
- Conduct thorough financial analysis, variance explanations, and provide insights to support business unit performance and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and internal control procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Support internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Optimize financial processes and systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency and automation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, legal, and other finance departments, to ensure seamless financial operations.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and support on complex transactions and new accounting standards.
- Contribute to ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required by senior management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
- Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within a large organization or Big Four audit firm.
- In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP FICO modules.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration.
- Experience in the retail, real estate, or leisure & entertainment industries.
- Familiarity with local UAE tax regulations (VAT).
- Experience with financial modelling and data visualization tools.
