We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Cement Plant Workers at our state-of-the-art facility in Rockfort, Kingston. As a Cement Plant Worker, you will be integral to the production process, contributing to the manufacture of cement that literally builds Jamaica. Your responsibilities will span various aspects of plant operations, from material handling and equipment operation to quality control and site maintenance. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor various plant machinery and equipment, including conveyors, crushers, and kilns, under supervision.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and movement of raw materials, clinker, and finished cement products.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions or potential hazards immediately to supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the plant work areas, adhering strictly to all housekeeping standards.
- Assist skilled technicians and operators in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities.
- Follow strict safety guidelines, protocols, and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for self and colleagues.
- Conduct quality checks on materials and products as required, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
- Participate actively in scheduled training sessions and mandatory safety meetings.
- Operate small hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment as needed for various tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support seamless plant operations and production goals.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training.
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team-oriented, industrial environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and unwavering adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods in varying conditions.
- Basic understanding of mechanical operations and a strong willingness to learn new industrial skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Reliable and punctual with a demonstrated strong work ethic and proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
