Job Description
Mafoko Security Patrols is seeking a diligent and highly observant CCTV Monitor to join our dedicated team in Yeoville, Gauteng. In this critical role, you will be the eyes of our operations, responsible for continuous surveillance of assigned areas through a sophisticated network of closed-circuit television cameras. Your primary objective will be to identify and report any suspicious activities, security breaches, or potential threats in real-time, contributing directly to the safety and security of our clients’ premises and personnel. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, quick decision-making under pressure, and the ability to maintain focus over extended periods. You will be instrumental in preventing incidents, providing crucial evidence for investigations, and coordinating with on-site security personnel and emergency services when necessary. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of security protocol. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct continuous surveillance of assigned areas using CCTV cameras and monitoring equipment.
- Proactively identify and report suspicious behaviour, unauthorized access, and potential security threats.
- Respond to alarms and escalate incidents according to established protocols.
- Document all observed activities, incidents, and actions taken in detailed reports and logs.
- Maintain accurate records of all surveillance footage and ensure its proper storage and retrieval.
- Communicate effectively with on-site security personnel, management, and emergency services during incidents.
- Operate and troubleshoot CCTV systems and related equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and relevant data protection regulations.
- Assist in investigations by reviewing footage and providing relevant information as required.
- Perform regular checks to ensure all cameras are fully operational and positioned correctly.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a CCTV Monitor or in a similar surveillance role.
- Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to remain focused and vigilant for extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in operating CCTV monitoring systems and related software.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office Suite).
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Valid PSIRA Grade C registration.
- South African citizen or valid work permit.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a security control room environment.
- Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols in Gauteng.
- First Aid and Fire Fighting certification.
- Familiarity with various security technologies (e.g., access control, alarm systems).
- A clean criminal record.
