Key Responsibilities
- Safely and punctually transport catering orders to various client locations across Portland, Oregon.
- Load and unload food, beverages, equipment, and supplies from delivery vehicles with care and efficiency.
- Verify order accuracy against delivery manifests before departure and upon arrival.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation guidelines during transport and delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, confirming orders and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Communicate any delays, issues, or discrepancies immediately to the dispatch team or supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and perform routine inspections of company vehicles; report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Efficiently plan delivery routes to optimize time and fuel consumption.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of catering events as needed upon delivery.
- Process payment or obtain necessary signatures/receipts upon delivery.
Required Skills
- Valid Oregon Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using GPS devices and navigation apps.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Portland city streets and traffic patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a catering driver or delivery driver in a food service environment.
- Current Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain one upon hire).
- Experience driving larger vans or trucks.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
