Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management and operational efficiency of the care home, ensuring full compliance with CQC regulations, relevant legislation, and internal policies.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a diverse team of care professionals, fostering a positive work culture that promotes continuous learning and high standards of care delivery.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and adapted to meet the evolving needs of residents.
- Manage the home's budget and financial resources effectively, including fee setting, expenditure control, and occupancy levels.
- Recruit, train, and retain skilled staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix to deliver exceptional care.
- Maintain open and effective communication with residents, their families, external healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure all safeguarding procedures are robustly followed, promoting the well-being and safety of all residents.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, responding to feedback and audit findings to enhance service quality and resident satisfaction.
- Manage health and safety processes, risk assessments, and emergency procedures across the premises.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the accommodation and facilities to provide a comfortable, safe, and engaging living environment.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership and management experience (minimum 3-5 years) in a residential care home setting.
- In-depth knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures, and care standards.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills, with a compassionate approach.
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor person-centred care plans effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing care team.
- Proficiency in IT systems relevant to care management and administration.
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred due to potential community engagement).
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 4/5 in Health and Social Care or a relevant management qualification.
- Registered Manager's Award or equivalent certification.
- Experience with a positive CQC inspection history (Good or Outstanding rating).
- Current First Aid certification and strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
