Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care, including assistance with personal care (washing, dressing, grooming).
  • Administer medication as prescribed and record accurately, adhering to strict protocols.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities.
  • Support with light household tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
  • Maintain accurate care records and report any changes in clients' health or well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Genuine compassion and empathy for others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle (essential for home care).
  • Willingness to undertake comprehensive training and continuous professional development.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect clients' privacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a care assistant or similar role.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Basic First Aid certification.
