Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, maintaining dignity and privacy at all times.
- Provide support with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques to ensure resident safety.
- Administer medication as per care plans and under the supervision of nursing staff, adhering strictly to protocols.
- Assist with meal times, ensuring residents receive adequate nutrition and hydration, and providing feeding assistance when required.
- Monitor and record vital signs, observe residents for changes in condition, and report any concerns promptly to the nursing team.
- Engage residents in social activities, conversations, and therapeutic exercises to promote mental and physical well-being.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents, adhering to hygiene and infection control policies.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, their families, and other members of the care team.
- Document care provided accurately and efficiently in resident records.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks within residents' rooms as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Care Assistant or similar role, preferably within an elder care setting.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion for the elderly.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
