Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous CAD Draftsman to join our growing engineering team in Warri, Delta. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to diverse and impactful projects within the oil and gas, power, and infrastructure sectors. As a CAD Draftsman, you will be instrumental in translating engineering designs and concepts into precise and comprehensive technical drawings using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Your primary responsibility will involve creating, modifying, and updating detailed 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, and layouts for various engineering disciplines, including civil, mechanical, and electrical. You will work closely with our engineers and project managers, ensuring all designs adhere to industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of drafting principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and a keen eye for accuracy. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, contributing significantly to the successful execution of our projects from conceptualization to completion. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and models from sketches, specifications, and other data using CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation).
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand design requirements and translate them into accurate technical drawings.
- Review and revise existing drawings to reflect design changes, modifications, and as-built conditions, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ANSI, ISO, API), company procedures, and client specifications.
- Perform quality checks on drawings to identify and correct errors, omissions, and inconsistencies.
- Maintain an organized system for filing, archiving, and retrieving engineering drawings and related documents.
- Assist in preparing material take-offs and bills of quantities from design drawings.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input and recommendations as required.
- Stay abreast of the latest CAD software advancements, drafting techniques, and industry trends to continuously improve drafting efficiency and quality.
Required Skills

Preferred Qualifications
- ND/HND/B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Certification in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or other relevant CAD software.
- Experience with other CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or Revit.
- Experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy construction industry.
- Knowledge of industry-specific codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, BS).
