Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced butchers in cutting, trimming, and preparing various cuts of beef, lamb, poultry, and other meats.
- Operate meat processing equipment such as grinders, slicers, and band saws safely and efficiently, under supervision.
- Ensure all work areas, tools, and equipment are meticulously cleaned and sanitized according to company and food safety standards.
- Accurately package, label, and price meat products for display in the retail cases.
- Monitor and replenish meat display cases, ensuring proper product rotation, appealing presentation, and freshness.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting shoppers with meat selections, special requests, and inquiries in a courteous manner.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Assist with receiving and stocking meat deliveries, ensuring proper storage and inventory management.
- Minimise waste by carefully handling and preparing meat products.
- Support the overall operations of the butchery department and other store duties as assigned.

- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
